Sean Casady
Built Up Engineers, PLLC was founded by Sean Casady, PE. Sean is a graduate of NC State University (Civil Engineering) and Wake Technical Community college (Associates in Sciences). Sean is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and Virginia.
Sean worked in various construction fields (both residential and commercial) prior to his career in engineering and has experience in multiple trades, including wood and metal stud framing, electrical, masonry and foundations, siding and roofing, and steel fabrication.
Sean's engineering experience includes over 1000 forensic structural inspections of homes and small buildings in addition to structural design of various residential and light commercial structures. A large part of Sean's forensic structural experience has included inspections and repairs/renovations for historic buildings and homes (late 1800s to early-mid 1900s).
Sean has also spent multiple years working as a consultant for exterior building envelope restoration and repairs. These projects have ranged from re-roofing and exterior renovation projects on high rise buildings (up 11 stories, ranging from the mountains to the coast) and major exterior restoration projects of masonry, storefront window assemblies, stucco/EIFS. Sean's involvement in projects has included specification and scope of work development, bid solicitation and inspections, RFI response and quality assurance services during the scope of work.
Tanner Troyer
Tanner, PE, is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina. Tanner has extensive experience in the construction industry, which inspired his engineering career, including restoring historic homes with his family. He specializes in wood framing construction and has expertise in the forensic inspection and structural design of residential homes and small commercial structures.
Michelle Potter
Michelle joined BUE in 2023 after working with the company on an engineering project she managed. She is a graduate of NC State University, where she majored in Business Management, with a concentration in Marketing.
Michelle has extensive experience in management and operations, including restaurants, property management and corporate processes. She values time management and works efficiently to complete projects with desired results.
Michelle is a Raleigh native, where she resides with her husband and two kids.
